Tom made cupcakes for his home learning challenge, and brought in a presentation showing how he made them.  We thought they looked fantastic and wanted to make them too - so we did!  Tom brought in "Patty" his cupcake maker for us to use.  Check out how to make them ...

Finn's Home Learning Challenge

Finn and his Dad built a helicopter for his Home Learning Challenge - and it was awesome!  He also made a powerpoint and presented it to the class on Friday.   Here is the powerpoint - I love how he used all recycled materials.

Mathletics

Cafe Time

We made some magic menus in class, and decided that we needed a cafe to put them to the test.  We thought about the different jobs in a cafe: cooks, waiters and waitresses, people to make coffee and tea, people to take the money, dishwashers, and customers.  Then we voted on a cafe name.  And the winning name was:
ROSETOWN CAFE!

Making Lemonade

We learnt a poem in class called "Lemons".  We like the poem so much we thought we'd better make Lemonade ourselves!  We took lots of photos so I made them into a little movie.  Enjoy!

School Song for this Friday - Fireflies

Whole School Assembly is this Friday and the school songs are Scooby Do and Fireflies.  Here is the music version and the karaoke version ... so a final few days to practice!

Making Honey Crackles - Snap! Crackle! Pop!

This  term our unit is "Food Glorious Food" - we are looking at procedural writing and food technology.  Combining these we decided to make rice bubble slice ... or "Honey Crackles" - the new Room 8 name for it!  After taking lots of photos, we decided to use them to make a movie explaining what we did.  And here it is!  We thought it tasted super yummy!!
